Istanbul Basaksehir welcome RB Leipzig to Turkey on Wednesday, with both sides looking to bounce back from Champions League defeats last week.

As we head into the penultimate round of group-stage fixtures, every team in Group H is still in with a chance of qualifying the Round of 16.

Istanbul Basaksehir may be bottom of the group, but they are only three points behind third-place RB Leipzig.

Leipzig are level on six points with second-place PSG, while Manchester United are three points clear at the top of Group H.

Basaksehir lost their opening two Champions League games this term, although they managed to secure a famous 2-1 win over Man Utd on Matchday 3.

However, the Red Devils got their revenge last week, inflicting a 4-1 defeat on the Turkish side in the reverse fixture.

Basaksehir did not make a good start to their domestic campaign, either, yet they have turned things around in recent weeks.

Following three straight defeats, a run of one loss in seven league outings has propelled the club back up the Super Lig standings.

Norwegian striker Fredrik Gulbrandsen had led the way for Basaksehir this season, netting five goals in eight Super Lig appearances.

On the flip side, kicked things off with a comfortable 2-0 win over Basaksehir, before suffering humliating 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Man Utd.

The German side then bounced back with a 2-1 victory over PSG on Matchday 3, but they were beaten by the same opponents last week.

The Red Bulls have been pretty inconsistent in the Champions League this season, yet their domestic form has been solid in 2020/21.

Leipzig have only lost one of their nine Bundesliga outings this term, with six wins and two draws keeping Julian Nagelsmann’s side within two points of Bayern Munich.

Surprisingly, wing-back Angelino has been Leipzig’s danger man this season. The Manchester City loanee has bagged six goals and two assists in all competitions, including a brace against Basaksehir.

Head-to-head: The only previous meeting between these two sides came on Matchday 1, with Leipzig winning 2-0 on that occasion.

Team news: Basaksehir will be without quartet Junior Caicara, Enzo Crivelli, Danikel Aleksic and Mehmet Topal for the visit of Leipzig.

The Red Bulls have Fabrice Hartmann, Konrad Laimer, Lukas Klostermann and Benjamin Henrichs injured. Hee-chan Hwang could miss out on Wednesday’s clash due to coronavirus.

Leipzig were able to claim a relatively straightforward 2-0 victory over Basaksehir in October. A similar scoreline is expected this time around.

Forebet predicts that Leipzig will score over 1.5 goals and keep a clean sheet on their way to victory over Basaksehir on Wednesay.
