Group B of the 2020/21 UEFA Champions League was always going to be close and that is certainly the case as we enter match day four.

One of the two fixtures taking place is between Inter Milan and Real Madrid at the San Siro Stadium. The hosts begin the match sitting bottom of the group on 2 points while the visitors are in second place on 4 points.

Inter Milan returned to domestic action following the international fixtures with a 4-2 home win against struggling Torino. However, the victory was far from easy and Inter Milan found themselves 2-0 after 62 minutes of the match. A fantastic come back started with a goal from Alexis Sanchez in the 64th minute and 20 minutes later Inter Milan were winning the game 3-2. The hosts added a fourth goal in the 90th minute to take maximum points.

It was an important victory for Inter Milan who were on a run of 4 matches without a win. In fact, they had won only 1 of their last 8 games in all competitions prior to the victory on the weekend.

Inter Milan have failed to win a game in the Champions League this season, drawing at home against Borussia Monchengladbach and away to Shakhtar Donetsk before losing in Madrid. Trends show Inter Milan have won just 1 of their last 6 matches in Champions League and both teams have scored in 5 of their last 6 in the competition.

Real Madrid picked up a point in a 1-1 draw at Villarreal in La Liga on the weekend. Having taken the lead in just the second minute of the game, Real Madrid were well positioned to go on and take maximum points but having failed to score the second goal, Villarreal equalised from the penalty spot in the 76th minute.

That result means Real Madrid have won 3 of their last 8 games in all competitions. One of those victories came in the Champions League at home against Inter Milan and Real Madrid have been defeated at home by Shakhtar Donetsk and held to a 2-2 draw at Borussia Monchengladbach.

Trends show Real Madrid have scored at least one goal in each of their last 10 Champions League matches. There have been over 2.5 goals in each of their last 8 in the competition plus both teams have scored in each of their last 7 games in the Champions League.

Team news and Inter Milan have three players unavailable due to COVID-19, with Aleksandar Kolarov, Marcelo Brozovic, and Daniele Padelli missing out. Stefano Sensi has a muscle injury.

Real Madrid travel without Luka Jović who has COVID-19. Sergio Ramos, Federico Valverde, and Álvaro Odriozola are injured with the former being a big miss in defence.

This should be an exciting game to watch with both teams scoring and the possibility of over 2.5 goals. The absence of Sergio Ramos in central defence will be a boost to the chances of the hosts but it would not be a surprise to see this game and level in what has been a close group to date.
