With the two sides locked on ten points at the top of Nations League Group A3, Portugal and France clash at Estadio da Luz on Saturday.

Both teams remain unbeaten in the competition (three wins, one draw), although Portugal top the group thanks to their superior goal difference.

Portugal head into Saturday’s game after handing Andorra a 7-0 thrashing in a friendly match on Wednesday.

Seven different players got on the scoresheet in midweek, with Pedro Neto, Cristiano Ronaldo and Joao Felix among the scorers.

Fernando Santos’ side are now unbeaten in their previous eight outings (six wins, two draws), so they will be confident of avoiding defeat on Saturday.

Portugal kicked off their Nations League campaign with a 4-1 victory over Croatia before beating Sweden 2-0 on Matchday 2.

A goalless draw with France followed, but Santos’ men returned to winning ways with a 3-0 win against Sweden a few days later.

On the other hand, France come into this clash on the back of a shock 2-0 friendly defeat at the hands of Finland in midweek.

Didier Deschamps’ side racked up 72% possession and 24 shots against Finland, yet they were unable to find a way through.

France were enjoying a 12-game unbeaten streak before meeting Finland (ten wins, two draws), so they will be eager to return to winning ways this weekend.

After kicking off their Nations League campaign with back-to-back victories over Sweden (1-0) and Croatia (4-2), France drew 0-0 with Portugal.

However, goals from Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappe saw Deschamps’ men pick up three points on Matchday 4.

Head-to-head: Portugal beat France 1-0 in the Euro 2020 final, but their only meeting since then was the goalless draw last month.

But over the years, the two nations have met 26 times. Portugal have only managed to win on six occasions, with France claiming 18 victories (two draws).

Team news: After starting the game against Andorra as a substitute, Ronaldo will almost certainly return to Portugal’s starting XI on Saturday.

Kingsley Coman is set to miss out for France through injury, so Marcus Thuram could feature again following his debut in midweek.

There was very little to sperate Portugal and France when the two sides met last month. We could be in for another tight encounter this time around.

Forebet predicts that Portugal and France will produce another goalless draw on Saturday.
