Sassuolo would move top of the Serie A table with a win against Udinese on Friday night. The hosts currently sit second in the table, 2pts behind AC Milan, and have made a better than expected start to the new season.
Last time out, Sassuolo won 2-0 at Napoli, thanks to two second-half goals from Locatelli and Lopez. Not being in European competition this season is certainly playing into Sassuolo’s hands. Friday’s hosts have been scoring goals for fun so far this season and look fresh for each match.
Over 2.5 goals have been scored in four of Sassuolo’s last five outings in Serie A, and both teams have scored in five of their last six matches.
Sassuolo don’t have the best of recent records against Udinese though, with the visitors winning three of the duo’s last six encounters and Sassuolo only claiming one win during that period.
Last season, Udinese got the domestic double over Sassuolo, winning 1-0 away and 3-0 at home. However, Friday’s hosts have started the campaign much better than their guests, with Udinese sitting in the relegation zone, having only secured 3pts from their opening six games.
Udinese were beaten 2-1 in their own backyard by AC Milan last time out. Kessie put the visitors in front in the 18th-minute but early in the second-half, a De Paul penalty brought Udinese back onto level terms. Late on, that man Ibrahimovic found the back of the net to clinch all 3pts and maintain AC Milan’s impressive start to the season.
The visitors have also been involved in a number of high-scoring games of late, with each of their last four matches in league and cup producing over 2.5 goals. Both teams have scored in those four matches as well, so an action-packed, end to end 90-minutes is expected on Friday.
Forebet is backing Sassuolo to edge out Udinese on Friday, despite the visitors not losing against their hosts in four matches. Sassuolo have made a strong start to the season and have scored over 2.5 team goals in four of their last five Serie A games.
