Leicester City and Sporting Braga sit at the top of Europa League Group G with six points apiece after two matchdays. The winner of Thursday night’s game at the King Power Stadium will move into sole possession of first place in the group.

The Foxes head into the game in fine form winning four straight games in all competitions. Two of those four games were in the Europa League as Leicester City outscored opponents 5-1. Both games saw Leicester City scored 2.0 or more goals.

Sporting Braga took six points from their two opening games and are also in good form. The Portuguese team are on a six-game winning streak. Two of those games were in the Europa League as wins were claimed versus AEK Athens and Zorya.

Like Leicester City, Sporting Braga have scored five goals while allowing one goal to opponents. Compared to their English counterparts, Sporting Braga have a history in the Europa League.

Last season, Sporting Braga faced off with Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Europa League group stage. They topped their group last season and claimed four points from six from Wolves.

Although Leicester City are a different team, Sporting Braga have experience winning games in the Europa League and claiming points from teams considered superior.

Brendan Rodgers continues to have injury problems in the Leicester City defence. Ricardo Pereira, Timothy Castagne, and Caglar Soyuncu are all three ruled out of action for the game. Centre-back Jonny Evans is a doubt for the game due to his own injury problems.

Midfielders Wilfried Ndidi and Daniel Amartey are both ruled out of the game as well. The Foxes have a difficult match upcoming this weekend against Leicester City. Rodgers has some important decisions to make in terms of which players to deploy.

Just one player is ruled out of Thursday’s game for Sporting Braga. Rui Fonte is out until January due to a knee issue. The club’s top scorer in the Europa League is Paulinho. He has scored a goal in each of Sporting Braga’s Europa League matches.

Sporting Braga’s European experience should see them claim a win away to Leicester City. The Portuguese team are not pushovers and shouldn’t be treated as thus.

All four games played in Europa League Group G finished with over 2.5 goals scored. Expect Thursday night’s game to see more than 2.5 goals as both teams find the back of the net. Sporting Braga will claim a win and give Leicester City a setback.
