Roma could only manage a goalless draw in their second group game in the Europa League against Bulgarian side CSKA Sofia. Thankfully for the Italians, Cluj and Young Boys drew their game as well, so the Serie A side haven’t lost any ground in the race to finish in the top two.
Roma have met Cluj four times before with mixed results. The Italians have twice beaten Cluj, in 2010 and 2008, but have also drawn and lost against the Romanians once before as well.
Roma are, however, unbeaten in their last three games against Cluj and will be confident of securing all 3pts on Thursday.
Both teams have scored in each of the previous four meetings between these two clubs, and three of those encounters have produced over 2.5 goals.

Roma claimed a 2-0 win over Fiorentina at the weekend to make it seven games on the run without a defeat. Spinazzola and Pedro scored the goals at the Stadio Olimpico that proved enough to defeat Fiorentina. Cluj lost at home to Gaz Metan Medias at the weekend, going 2-0 down before eventually netting a consolation goal in stoppage time through Ciobotariu.
Both teams have scored in four of Cluj’s last six matches, with Thursday’s visitors finding the back of the net in all six of those games. Rondon top score for Cluj this season with four goals in the Europa League, and will be the visitor’s main threat in Rome. Dzeko will lead the line for Roma and has scored three goals in Serie A already, but midfielder Veretout top scores with four league goals.
Forebet believes that Roma will do just enough to win on Thursday but expects a close and competitive 90-minutes between the two clubs. Both teams are likely to score on Thursday, and Forebet expects at least three goals to be produced during the match.
