Leeds United and Leicester City head into matchday 7 in the Premier League having won their respective matches last weekend. Now, the two top-six rivals clash at Elland Road with three massive points up for grabs.

Leicester City are fourth in the league with 12 points from 18 possible. After suffering back-to-back losses to Manchester City and West Ham, Leicester City claimed a 1-0 away victory against Arsenal.

Brendan Rodgers’ team followed up the win with a midweek Europa League away 2-1 victory in Greece versus AEK Athens. The combination of league and European games could affect Leicester City’s squad fitness.

Leeds United claimed an impressive 3-0 away win at Villa Park last weekend, ending Aston Villa’s winning start. The win ended a two-match winless run for Marcelo Bielsa’s team.

If Leeds United can sort out their defensive issues, they could rise up the table even further than sixth place.

The Whites have recorded four points from nine at home this season. They have recorded a mere five goals while allowing five to opponents. Leicester City are a perfect nine points from nine away from home.

They have allowed just two goals, both came against Manchester City, while scoring nine times – five of those goals came versus Manchester City.

Twice the Foxes have won to nil away from home this campaign. Leeds United’s last home match versus Wolverhampton Wanderers ended in a 1-0 defeat.

Bielsa is without Kalvin Phillips, Gaetano Berardi, Adam Forshaw, Diego Llorente, and Liam Cooper. All five players are ruled out through their various injuries.

Rodgers is now without summer signing Timothy Castagne. He suffered a thigh strain in Greece on Thursday night. Castagne’s injury problem increases the strain on Leicester City’s injury hit defence.

Full-back Ricardo Pereira is still ruled out. Defensive midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is also ruled out of the game due to his own injury issue. Centre-back Jonny Evans could play after shaking off a lower back injury.

These teams last met during the 2017-18 Carabao Cup tournament. Leicester City romped to a win on that day, 3-1. The game was 1-1 at halftime before Leicester City scored twice to win in the second period.

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has scored six times this season, which is the third-most in the league. He has tallied 46% of the Foxes’ goals.

Vardy should lead Leicester City to a win on Monday night as the Foxes continue their good form. Both teams should score as over 2.5 goals are tallied.
