The two teams considered the underdogs in Group G of the Champions League, Ferencvaros and Dynamo Kiev meet on Wednesday night. The pair will be looking to recover from gameweek one defeats.
Ferencvaros kicked off their Champions League campaign with a 5-1 defeat in Catalonia against Barcelona. The defeat was not a major surprise considering the perceived gulf in quality available to the respective teams.
However, the Hungarian side will still hope that they can recover and pick up something from this game, which looks a far more winnable game than the others in the group.
The defeat last time out against Barcelona ended a five-game unbeaten run in the Champions League for Ferencvaros. It must be noted that most of Ferencvaros’ recent games in Europe’s elite competition have been in the qualifying rounds of the competition.
The Hungarian team have a decent recent record on home soil in the Champions League, winning four of their last six games on home soil.
They have been potent in those most recent home games in Europe’s elite competition, scoring at least two goals in all four of those victories.
Like their hosts, Dynamo Kiev head into this clash as leaders of their domestic league. Also similar to the hosts, the Ukrainian team suffered a defeat in gameweek one of the Champions League, going down to a 2-0 home defeat against Juventus.
The visitors headed into that game against the Italian champions on the back of a four-game unbeaten run in Europe’s elite competition, having recorded three wins in the process.
Dynamo have struggled for results on their travels in the Champions League, having won just once in their last nine matches on their travels.
Forebet predicts that Ferencvaros will record a narrow victory that would keep the Hungarian team ahead of Dynamo Kiev in a tough group.
