A three-game unbeaten streak has left West Ham United ahead of Manchester City in the Premier League table on goal difference, with the two sides clashing at the London Stadium on Saturday.

The Hammers got off to the worst possible start this season, suffering back-to-back defeats to Newcastle and Arsenal in their opening two games.

However, David Moyes’ side have turned things around in recent weeks. After thrashing Wolves 4-0, West Ham beat Leicester 3-0.

The Hammers appeared to be heading for defeat against Tottenham last time out, but they managed to engineer a remarkable late comeback.

West Ham were three goals down inside 20 minutes against Spurs, but three goals after 82 minutes saw Moyes’ men clinch a draw in dramatic fashion.

The Hammers have now won each of their previous three home games in all competitions by scoring over 2.5 goals.

Jarrod Bowen has netted three goals in his last three appearances, including a brace against Wolves. Pablo Fornals (1 goal, 2 assists) has also impressed so far this term.

Meanwhile, Man City kicked off their campaign with 3-1 victory over Wolves, but they were quickly brought back down to earth by a 5-2 thrashing at the hands of Leicester.

Pep Guardiola’s side were then held to a draw by newly-promoted Leeds, before they returned to winning ways with a 1-0 victory over Arsenal last weekend.

Man City claimed a comfortable 3-1 victory over Porto in the Champions League on Wednesday, with Sergio Aguero, Ilkay Gundogan and Ferran Torres getting on the scoresheet.

It’s fair to say that Man City have not made the best of starts to the 2020/21 campaign, although they can take confidence from their recent record against the Hammers.

Head-to-head: Man City have won each of their previous nine games against West Ham and have won by over 2.5 goals in their last five away outings against the Hammers.

Looking at the bigger picture, Man City are unbeaten in 18 of their last 21 meetings with West Ham and have won 15 of their last 18.

Team news: West Ham are waiting to see whether forward duo Michail Antonio and Sebastien Haller will be fit for Saturday’s clash.

Gabriel Jesus and Benjamin Mendy are sidelined for Man City, while Kevin De Buryne, Aymeric Laporte and Nathan Ake remain doubts.

West Ham have started the season in eye-catching form, but it is difficult to ignore Man City’s extremely strong record in this fixture.

Forebet predicts that Man City will score over 1.5 goals on their way to victory over West Ham on Saturday.
