The top two in Nations League Group A2 go head-to-head on Sunday, with England welcoming Belgium to Wembley.

Belgium find themselves top of the group with a 100% after two games, while England are second following a win and a draw.

England edged Iceland in a dramatic game on Matchday 1. Both sides had a man sent off before Raheem Sterling converted an injury-time penalty to seal the points for the Three Lions.

However, Gareth Southgate’s side failed to find a way through against Demark a few days later. The Danes held England to a goalless draw on Matchday 2.

The Three Lions returned to winning ways on Thursday with a comfortable 3-0 victory over local rivals Wales at Wembley.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin opened the scoring on 26 minutes before second-half goals from Conor Coady and Danny Ings capped off the win.

Calvert-Lewin now has ten goals in seven games for club and country this season having already netted nine in six outings for Everton.

Meanwhile, Belgium’s Nations League campaign kicked off with a 2-0 victory over Denmark. Jason Denayer and Dries Mertens got on the scoresheet on Matchday 1.

Belgium then thrashed Iceland 5-1 on Matchday 2. Michy Batshuayi bagged a brace as the Belgians enjoyed a mammoth 75% possession.

Following a perfect European Championship qualifying campaign, Belgium have now won each of their previous 12 competitive matches.

However, a late Franck Kessie penalty saw Belgium draw 1-1 with Ivory Coast in a friendly game on Thursday.

With Belgium averaging 3.5 goals per game in the Nations League this year, England’s defenders will need to be on top form this weekend.

Head-to-head: England and Belgium faced each other twice at the 2018 World Cup, with Belgium winning on both occasions.

The Belgians claimed a 1-0 victory in the group stage before beating England 2-0 in the third-place play-off match.

However, England have beaten Belgium 14 times over the years, while the Belgians have only claimed four wins in this fixture overall.

Team news: In-form striker Calvert-Lewin could start for England again following his debut goal for the Three Lions last time out.

Tammy Abraham, Jadon Sancho and Ben Chilwell sat out of the win over Wales are the trio broke coronavirus rules. It is unclear whether or not they will feature on Sunday.

Belgium will be without goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois as the Real Madrid star has pulled out of the squad due to injury.

This is destined to be a thrilling match between two of Europe’s top teams. However, it is difficult to ignore Belgium’s strong recent record against England.

Forebet predicts that both teams will score, although Belgium are expected to come out on top.
