On Thursday night, St. Johnstone host Aberdeen at McDiarmid Park, as the visitors play only their second game of the new SPL campaign.
St. Johnstone have endured mixed fortunes in their three SPL games this season so far, picking up four points from a possible nine in the Scottish top-flight.
A 2-1 win at Kilmarnock last time out was their first league win of the campaign. Despite the slow start to the current SPL campaign, the Saints have been a hard team to beat dating back to last season, as they have suffered just one defeat in their previous ten league matches. The one defeat was against Rangers in a 3-0 loss, so was forgivable.
All three of St. Johnstone’s league games have been played away from home this season. They finished last season with a relatively strong run of form on home soil in the SPL, suffering just one defeat in their previous nine matches. That one loss was against reigning champions Celtic.
Their league matches at McDiarmid Park of late in the Scottish top-flight have been high-scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in six of their previous seven home matches.
Aberdeen’s only SPL game this season has resulted in a 1-0 home defeat against Rangers. The defeat means that the Dons have won just once in their previous five league games dating back to last season.
The visitors SPL games towards the end of last season were high-scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in five of their last six league matches this season.
Aberdeen are unbeaten in their previous five away matches in the Scottish top-flight, although they have drawn four of those five undefeated matches.

Forebet predicts that this clash will finish in a low-scoring draw, which continues the home team’s mixed start.
