The Bankwest Stadium in Sydney provides the venue for this important upcoming clash in  the Australian A-League as Perth Glory play their last game of the regular season against a Western United outfit who have games in hand and have a possible top six finish in their sights.

Perth currently occupy a place in the top six as they sit in 5th place and they know that just a point here may well be enough for the western Australian outfit to grab a play-off spot as 6th placed Adelaide United are two points behind them and possess an inferior goal difference.

However, Western United pose a threat to both Perth Glory and Adelaide United as they have games in hand, so Perth will be particularly keen to grab all three points here in order to cement their place in the play-offs.

Although, three defeats from their last four matches suggest this could be a nervous end to the campaign for The Glory.

Losses to Wellington Phoenix, Adelaide United and Melbourne Victory have been major blows to The Glory, so the goals market may be the best option here, especially as eight of Glory’s last 11 matches overall have seen both teams score.

Onto Western United and the 7th placed side are just two points adrift of 6th placed Adelaide United with this upcoming clash against Perth Glory and Mark Rudan’s side are coming home with a wet sail, having produced some impressive displays of late.

The Victorian-based side have won four of their last five matches overall in the A-League thanks to victories over Central Coast Mariners, Adelaide United, Melbourne Victory and Western Sydney Wanderers and this resurgence in form is no small way due to the goalscoring exploits of striker, Besart Berisha, who has plundered a total of 16 goals to date this season.

Western United’s goalscoring midfielders, Diamanti (7 goals) and Burgess (6 goals) have also contributed important goals, but the likes of Berisha must be respected here as the Kosovan striker has racked up double-figure goal tallies in each of his last eight seasons playing in the A-League.

Perth Glory’s forward, Bruno Fornaroli (13 goals) is also a dangerous customer in the final third, so the prospect of both teams scoring here looks likely.
