The race for the Norwegian Eliteserien title could be an interesting one this season. Reigning champions Molde are not top of the table, but rather Bodo/Glimt, who visit Stabaek on Thursday evening.
The visitors have made a perfect start to the new league campaign in the Eliteserien, winning all ten of their league games this term. Their most impressive result of the season was a 3-1 home defeat of reigning champions Molde last time out. The victory moved Kjetil Knutsen’s team five points clear of the champions and put them in a healthy position to challenge for the title this season.
One of the most positive aspects of the Eliteserien season for the visitors of late has been their attack, as they have scored at least two goals in all ten of their league games this season.
That is just a continuation of their attacking form from last season, though, as Bodo/Glimt also netted at least two goals in their final four games of the previous campaign.
Danish forward duo Philip Zinckernagel and Kasper Junker have been in good form this season, scoring seven and nine league goals respectively in the Eliteserien.
Stabaek have enjoyed mixed fortunes so far in the Norwegian top-flight. Jan Jonsson’s team are fifth-place in the Norwegian top-flight table after a four game unbeaten run in the Eliteserien. However, they have only won two of their previous five league matches.
They have also been in inconsistent form on home soil, winning just three of their previous nine league games at the Nadderud Stadion.
On the flip-side, they have suffered just one league defeat in their previous eight Eliteserien games, so it may be a case of failing to convert those draws into victories.
Forebet predicts that Bodo/Glimt will continue their strong campaign by recording a victory in a high-scoring encounter.
