Real Madrid collected a fifth league win on the trot in La Liga on the weekend with a 1-0 victory away from home at Espanyol which in turn helped Thursday’s hosts to top spot in the Spanish top flight, one point ahead of their rivals, Barcelona.
Victories over Eibar, Valencia, Real Sociedad, Mallorca and Espanyol will give Real Madrid plenty of momentum heading into this upcoming clash against 5th placed Getafe, and even though their opponents are also fighting for a European spot, Real Madrid have been dominant at home so far this season.
The hosts still remain unbeaten at home in this season’s La Liga campaign having registered 12 wins and 4 draws, and confidence will be high at the Bernabeu as Real Madrid have won eight of their last 10 matches on home turf.

Onto Getafe, and the visitors bring a decent looking four-match unbeaten run into this Thursday night clash at the Bernabeu having picked up points in draws with Espanyol, Eibar and Real Valladolid along with recording last week’s 2-1 win against Real Sociedad which has helped them maintain their 5th placed position in La Liga.
Results throughout this campaign overall though have been a mixed bag for Getafe and this is no different when looking at their results away from home; wins on the road at Leganes, Athletic Bilbao and Mallorca have been tempered by defeats at Barcelona and Granada, along with keeping just 5 clean sheets on their travels.
Getafe have basically done enough against the teams around or below them in the La Liga table to warrant their current position of 5th place but their results against the fellow top six sides are an eye-opener.
The visitors have lost all four of their meetings away from home against top six opposition with defeats at Villarreal, Sevilla, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona, so this upcoming trip to face the La Liga leaders, Real Madrid, could be beyond Getafe.
