Bayern Munich will be looking to maintain their seven-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga table when Fortuna Dusseldorf visit the Allianz Arena for Saturday’s late kick off.

The reigning champions took a giant step towards clinching their eighth consecutive Bundesliga title with a hard-fought victory over rivals Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.

Dortmund came out fighting, but a perfectly measured Joshua Kimmich chip on the stroke of half time eventually proved to be the difference between the two sides.

Bayern are now unbeaten in their previous 14 league games – winning 13 – and it’s going to take something very special to knock them off their perch at this stage of the season.

Not only are Hansi Flick’s men the top scorers in the division – 81 goals in 28 games at an average of just under three goals per game – but they also now boast the best defensive record in the league.

At the other end of the table, Dusseldorf ended a run of four straight draws by claiming a vitally important victory over Schalke in their previous game.

Uwe Rosler’s side went behind early in the second half, but two quickfire strikes from Rouwen Hennings and Kenan Karaman turned the game around.

Fortuna still occupy the relegation play-off spot, although they are now five points ahead of Werder Bremen and just one behind Mainz.

Dusseldorf’s win against Schalke was only the sixth time this season that they’ve taken all three points from a Bundesliga game, but it's highly unlikely that they’ll record back-to-back wins on Saturday.

Bayern have scored over 2.5 goals in each of their previous five meetings with Dusseldorf and have scored exactly four goals in each of their last two encounters.

In fact, the aggregate scoreline between the two teams across their past five meetings stands at 19-6 in favour of Bayern.

The hosts have been without Corentin Tolisso, Niklas Sule, and Philippe Coutinho since the restart, and it doesn’t look like the trio will be fit to return this weekend.

As for Fortuna, Dawid Kownacki and Zack Steffen remain unavailable, so Rosler is likely to stick with the same players who did so well against Schalke last time out.

All the signs are pointing towards a Bayern win on Saturday. Sure, Fortuna claimed three points in their previous game. But Bayern are on an unbelieve run right now.

Forebet predicts that Bayern Munich are set for yet another high-scoring win over Dusseldorf. Flick’s men are likely to score over 3.5 goals on their way to victory.
