On Saturday morning, FC Seoul and Gwangju FC go head-to-head at the Seoul World Cup Stadium, as both teams look to secure their first victory of the new K-League campaign.
Seoul kicked off the league season with a 3-1 defeat at Gangwon. The defeat continued a concerning run of form in the K-League from last season.
The home side head into this game on the back of a run of just one win in their last ten league matches dating back to September. They have also failed to win in six K-League games while suffering four defeats in the process.
A lack of goals has been their main problem in the South Korean top-flight of late, as they have failed to score in three of their last four league games, scoring just once in the process.
Their home form in the K-League has not been great of late either, as they have failed to win in three games at the World Cup Stadium in the top-flight while suffering three straight home defeats.
A lack of clean sheets on home soil has hindered their chances of positive results, as they have kept just one clean sheet in their last 14 matches on home soil.
Gwangju are back in the K-League for the first time in three seasons after winning promotion from the second tier last season. The visitors return to the K-League was not a happy one though, as they suffered a 2-0 home defeat against Seongnam in gameweek one.
The defeat means they have suffered three straight league defeats, with the first two defeats coming in the K-League 2. They have also now suffered three straight defeats in the K-League stretching back to their last stint in the K-League.
Forebet predicts that Seoul will kick-start their league campaign by recording a victory in a high-scoring encounter to add to Gwangju’s woes.
