Birmingham City will welcome former manager, Garry Monk, to St Andrews on Saturday afternoon as The Blues look to extend their unbeaten run in all competitions to 11 matches following their solid point in last weekend’s 1-1 draw with high-flying Brentford.
Birmingham will no doubt be looking to go one step better this Saturday against a wobbling Sheffield Wednesday outfit who had earlier shown promise as potential challengers for a play-off spot, but The Owls have fallen away in dramatic fashion since.
No such worries for Birmingham at the moment as the hosts are unbeaten in their last 7 matches in the Championship which includes victories over Luton Town, Nottingham Forest, Bristol City and Barnsley as well as picking up useful points in draws with Cardiff City, Middlesbrough and Brentford.

Onto Sheffield Wednesday, and as mentioned earlier, The Owls embarked upon a promising stretch of results from the end of November through to just before Christmas which saw the visitors put together a 5-match unbeaten run which included 4 wins.
Victories over Charlton Athletic, Brentford, Nottingham Forest and Bristol City had seemingly set The Owls on course for a possible top six finish, but Garry Monk’s side have managed just 1 win out of their 10 subsequent matches overall in the Championship.
This alarming slump in form has resulted in Sheffield Wednesday dropping down to 12th place and now level on 44 points apiece with their hosts, Birmingham City, as both teams look to lift themselves up into the top half of the Championship this weekend.
Wednesday have also captured just 1 win from their last 5 matches on their travels which was a surprising 2-0 win away at Elland Road against Yorkshire rivals, Leeds United, but there’s been little to cheer about for Wednesday fans on the road in recent weeks.
The positive momentum therefore appears to favour Birmingham City ahead of this clash and as well as being unbeaten in their last 5 meetings overall against Sheffield Wednesday, The Blues are also unbeaten in their last three encounters at St Andrews too - winning the last two.
