Arsenal will be looking to end a run of three straight draws in the Premier League when they travel to Turf Moor to face Burnley on Sunday afternoon.

On the other hand, Sean Dyche’s side can make it three league wins a row with victory against the Gunners.

Both sides have picked up 30 points from 24 games this season. However, Arsenal’s superior goal difference means they sit tenth – three places above Burnley.

Following a run of four consecutive defeats over the festive period, Burnley bounced back with successive victories to kick off the new year.

The Clarets came from behind to beat Leicester earlier in the month before claiming their first win at Old Trafford since 1962 by beating Manchester United 2-0.

Burnley suffered a 2-1 FA Cup defeat to Norwich City in their previous game, but Dyche’s men have undoubtedly picked up their game in recent weeks.

By contrast, the Mikel Arteta era at Arsenal is yet to really take off. The Gunners have won just one of their six league games since the Spaniard took over, drawing four and losing one.

Arteta’s reign began with a Boxing Day draw at Bournemouth before Arsenal lost 2-1 to Chelsea. The Gunners then beat Man Utd but have since been held to three draws.

There have undoubtedly been some noticeable improvements on the pitch under Arteta. Still, the team must start turning draws into wins in order to move up the table.

The two teams last met on Matchday 2, and Arsenal claimed a 2-1 win in the reverse fixture thanks to goals from Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Remarkably, that was the Gunners’ eleventh straight victory against Burnley. The Clarets last beat Arsenal all the way back in 2008.

It’s also worth mentioning that Burnley and Arsenal both scored in eight of their previous twelve meetings in all competitions.

This fixture is likely to produce goals once again as Aubameyang returns from suspension this weekend. However, Arteta is faced with some big selection decisions, with teenage forward Gabriel Martinelli in excellent form.

As for Burnley, Dyche will be without striker Ashley Barnes, while Phil Bardsley and Johann Berg Gudmundsson remain injury doubts.

Burnely have picked up some promising results lately, but Arsenal’s firepower should give them the edge on Sunday.

Forebet predicts that Arsenal will score over 2.5 goals on their way to victory. Both teams are also likely to score.
