Hull City will be looking to avoid a third consecutive defeat on the trot in the Championship on Tuesday night when they play host to Huddersfield Town at their KCOM Stadium.
Losses to Fulham 1-0 at home and a 1-0 loss on the road at Derby County means that Hull remain treading water in their mid-table position of 12th in the Championship which is a fair reflection of The Tigers’ season so far, having won 11, drawn 6 and lost 11 overall to date.
Hull are another side that lack consistency and their recent results reflect what has been a topsy-turvy campaign for the Humberside outfit as they’ve recorded wins against QPR and Sheffield Wednesday (both away from home), but have also fallen to defeats against Nottingham Forest and the aforementioned losses to Fulham and Derby County.
The hosts had put together an impressive 3-match winning streak at their KCOM Stadium with wins against Preston North End, Stoke City and Birmingham City, but have since lost their last two on the trot at home.
Nevertheless, Hull have held the upper hand over Huddersfield at home in previous meetings as the hosts have won 6 of the previous 7 meetings at the KCOM Stadium.
Onto Huddersfield Town, and The Terriers are still not yet completely out of the woods as far as relegation is concerned as the visitors have claimed just 1 win out of their last 5 matches overall in the Championship.
Huddersfield’s situation looks a lot more promising than it did before Danny Cowley arrived at the club though as The Terriers sit fourth from bottom of the second tier but possess a valuable 5-point cushion above third from bottom club, Barnsley.
However, with just 1 away win out of their last 6 matches on their travels, Cowley and his players still have a lot of work to do in order to improve upon an away record which has yielded just 3 wins on the road throughout this campaign to date.
In addition, 7 of Huddersfield’s 13 away matches this season have seen the visitors concede 2 goals or more and they’ll be up against a Hull City side that possess the very dangerous Jarrod Bowen up front who’s scored a total of 16 goals so far this season.
