On Thursday night, La Liga’s Real Betis face a potentially difficult trip to Rayo Vallecano in the last 32 of the Copa del Rey.
This game is not top of Rayo Vallecano’s priority list, with attempting to achieve a play-off spot in the Segunda their biggest aim for this season. The team from the capital are just a few points off the play-off spots in the second tier with a game in hand.
The clash with Betis will, however, will be a good way to test their skills against a top-tier side.
Vallecano head into this clash in decent form. The home side is currently seven games unbeaten in all competitions and will fancy their chances of pulling off an upset at the Estadio de Vallecas.
However, they do not have a great recent record in the Copa del Rey, winning just one of their last six games in the competition in 90 minutes. Paco Jemez’s team have already eliminated Tarazona and Barakaldo in this seasons Copa, beating the later in extra-time.
Real Betis are enjoying a mixed campaign this season. The visitors are currently midtable in La Liga and hoping to push up the table after a slightly more consistent run of form in recent weeks.
The team from Seville have now won six of their last nine matches in all competitions, including recording a 3-0 win over Real Sociedad in their last outing.
The visitor’s path to the last 32 of the Copa del Rey has been pretty straightforward so far, as Rubi’s team have won comfortably at lower league Antoniano and Portugalete in the last two rounds. Vallecano should prove to be tougher opposition, though.

Forebet predicts that Vallecano will prove to be a tougher opposition and grind out a draw against their La Liga opponents.
