Following their 2-1 defeat away at Sheffield Wednesday, Brentford have since bounced back to collect 7 points from the last possible 9 on offer thanks to back-to-back wins against Cardiff City and Fulham in 2-1 and 1-0 wins respectively and both at Griffin Park, along with a solid point in a 1-1 draw away from home at Championship leaders, West Brom.

Results overall in recent times have seen Brentford suffer just 3 defeats out of their last 12 matches with only one of the defeats being incurred at home (1-0 to Huddersfield Town), so The Bees will be confident that they can get something out of this Boxing Day clash with Swansea City.

After that surprising defeat at home to Huddersfield Town, Brentford have shown their character and team spirit by bouncing back to win their subsequent 4 home matches on the trot with wins against reading 1-0, Luton Town 7-0, Cardiff City 2-1 and a 1-0 win against London rivals, Fulham.

The Bees have also kept 3 clean sheets from these last 4 matches too.

Visitors Swansea City have also produced a couple of decent results following a mini-slump in the Championship as they’ve recorded back-to-back wins against Middlesbrough 3-1 at home and a 1-0 win away at Luton Town last weekend.

The Swans had previously endured a difficult but ultimately disappointing 6-match sequence prior to their recent wins as the Welsh club were handed defeats by Millwall, Fulham and West Brom - the latter two results seeing Swansea City on the end of 2-1 and 5-1 defeats respectively.

Draws with Sheffield Wednesday, Huddersfield Town and Blackburn Rovers were also useful results which saw Swansea pick up points which has kept them in touch with the play-off pack.

Indeed, Swansea sit in 7th place but level on points with their Boxing Day hosts, Brentford, prior to this important clash in London, and The Swans have lost just once on their travels so far this season in the Championship.

Swansea have actually suffered just 1 defeat out of their last 13 matches on the road in the second tier but they did lose the last meeting against Brentford in a heavy 3-0 defeat at home towards the end of October.

Both teams seem evenly matched in their respective home and away form and the points could be shared as a result.
