Spanish giants Real Madrid look determined to push arch-rivals and reigning champions Barcelona all the way in La Liga’s title race this season. Los Blancos are currently only trailing the Catalan giants by virtue of inferior goal difference with El Clasico on the horizon.
However, Zinedine Zidane’s men face a test of their title credentials on Sunday night, as they travel to the Mestalla to face Valencia.
Valencia have enjoyed an inconsistent campaign in La Liga until recently when their form has improved. Albert Celades’ team are now just outside the European berths in the Spanish top-flight, as they are now unbeaten in three La Liga games, having won their last three games in all competitions following a midweek 1-0 win at Ajax in the Champions League.
In the Spanish top-flight, their recent record is now four wins in their last five outings. Los Ches have also scored at least twice in each of their recent four victories.
Another cause for confidence at Valencia is their recent home record in La Liga, as they have lost just once in their last 21 league outings at the Mestalla.
Real Madrid have been in stellar form of late recording four straight victories in La Liga. Similar to the home side, Los Blancos have been prolific in the Spanish top-flight in recent games, scoring at least twice in their previous four outings.
At the other end of the pitch, Zidane’s team have conceded just two goals in their last six La Liga matches.
One facet of their game that Los Blancos can improve upon is their away record in La Liga, as they have won just four times in 12 league games on their travels. Two of those wins have been in their last two away games at Eibar and Alaves.
Forebet predicts that Real Madrid will continue their recent good La Liga form and record a victory in a high-scoring clash.
