On Saturday afternoon reigning German champions Bayern Munich play host to Werder Bremen at the Allianz Arena, in a game that could prove to be vital in the Bavarians chances of retaining their top-flight crown.

Bayern have slipped to seventh place in the Bundesliga table after back-to-back league defeats against Bayer Leverkusen and Monchengladbach.

The defeat at league leaders Gladbach could prove to be a decisive result in the race for the German top-flight title.

The Bavarians are now seven points behind the Foals in the title race and a point outside the Champions League spots. Only Hoffenheim in the top-ten of the Bundesliga table has conceded more goals than the reigning champions this season.

Even their usually super-strong home record in the Bundesliga has wavered in recent weeks, as they have now two and lost two of their last four games on home soil in the German top-flight.

However, if you are looking for goals in a top-flight game in the Bundesliga then look no further than the Allianz Arena, as Bayern’s last nine home matches in the league have produced over 2.5 goals.

Werder Bremen head to Munich on the back of a poor run of results which has seen them slip to 14th place in the table, just two points above the relegation play-off spot.

A surprise 1-0 home defeat by Paderborn in their last league outing means that the visitors have won just once in their last five games, having suffered three defeats in their last four league matches. Just like the home side, Werder’s recent Bundesliga games have been high-scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in five of their last six outings.

Forebet predicts that Bayern will end that two-game losing streak in the Bundesliga by recording a victory in a high-scoring encounter.
