A 2-1 defeat away from home at Bayer Leverkusen put an end to Schalke’s 5-match unbeaten run in the German top flight, but the hosts will return to their VELTINS-Arena for this Sunday’s clash with Eintracht Frankfurt in confident mood of bouncing back with a win here.
A 0-0 draw at home with Borussia Dortmund was followed by a string of wins against Augsburg 3-2, Werder Bremen 2-1 and Union Berlin 2-1 along with a point against Fortuna Dusseldorf, so despite defeat last time out, this was on the road.
On home turf, Schalke have suffered just 1 defeat all season and they bring a 6-match unbeaten run at their VELTINS-Arena into this Sunday encounter which includes wins against Hertha Berlin, Mainz and Union Berlin.
With momentum behind them on home soil, Schalke look set for further success here and with the likes of midfielders Harit (6 goals) and Serdar (5 goals) along with forward Raman (3 goals) up front, Schalke look in good shape ahead of this clash.

Eintracht Frankfurt head into this Sunday encounter in the Bundesliga away at Schalke on the back of some poor results in recent weeks following 3 defeats out of their last 4 matches which has resulted in Eintracht Frankfurt dropping down to 11th place in the German top flight.
Recent losses to Freiburg, Wolfsburg and Mainz along with a disappointing 2-2 draw at home with Hertha Berlin have seen Eintracht Frankfurt spiral into a worrying slump in form and they now face a tough trip to face a solid Schalke outfit in their own backyard.
This away trip looks especially tough as Eintracht Frankfurt have lost 7 of their last 8 matches on their travels in the Bundesliga with just 1 win amongst this poor sequence of results which was a 2-1 win at Union Berlin, so confidence in getting a result at high-flying Schalke may well be at its lowest ebb for the visitors.
The visitors are also involved in action in the Europa League on Thursday night and although the result is not known at the time of writing, the efforts of a midweek clash may also take its toll on Eintracht Frankfurt.
Schalke, with rest under their belts, therefore look to have the edge here.
