West Brom returned to the top of the Championship during the week when they captured a fifth straight win on the trot with a 1-0 win away from home at Deepdale against 6th placed Preston North End.

This successful midweek result also extended West Brom’s unbeaten stretch in the Championship to 9 matches undefeated and although they’re currently alternating the ownership of top place in the second tier with Leeds United, they know that Leeds are in a local derby with Huddersfield Town this Saturday.

Back to West Brom though, and Slaven Bilic’s side have won 7 of these last 9 matches as well as still remaining unbeaten on home turf at The Hawthorns so far this season, having registered 5 wins and 4 draws to date this term.

Therefore, the straight win for West Brom would normally appeal here, but they’re up against a Swansea City side who have also yet to taste defeat away from home in the Championship, so this makes the straight win market a little more precarious.

However, all is not lost - all 9 of West Brom’s home matches this term have resulted in both teams scoring, so this looks a good option on Sunday too.

Swansea City’s run of matches without a win in the Championship was extended to 4 games last weekend when they suffered a 2-1 defeat at home to Fulham at their Liberty Stadium, but being on the road this Sunday might just suit Steve Cooper’s side as they’re still unbeaten on their travels this season.

Recent draws with Sheffield Wednesday 2-2 and Huddersfield Town 1-1 (both away from home) along with back-to-back defeats to Millwall and Fulham, have resulted in Swansea dropping down to 8th place on the Championship ladder, but having won 4 and drawn 5 away from home this term, The Swans may just fancy their chances of causing an upset in the west midlands this Sunday.

We need to take into consideration though that West Brom have been flying in recent times and will either be top or at least 2nd place in the Championship, so a Swansea win would appear to be a little unlikely.

Instead, 6 of Swansea’s 9 away matches this season have resulted in both teams scoring so this would appear to be the best option for this clash at The Hawthorns.
