Bayern Munich are the undisputed dominant force in the German Bundesliga. The Bavarians have won the most league titles in the history of the competition, lifting the trophy on 28 occasions.

However, in recent seasons the reigning champions have not had all their own way at times in the German top-flight. This season is no different, as they have already seen the exit of Croatian boss Niko Kovac due to poor results.

His interim successor Hans-Dieter Flick has not done a bad job at all though, winning all four of his games in charge by a healthy margin. The visit of Bayer Leverkusen to the Allianz Arena on Saturday afternoon may prove a slightly trickier challenge than their last few matches.

Bayern hammered Serbian side Red Star Belgrade 6-0 on their own turf last time out in the Champions League. The win summed up just how good Bayern can be going forward, with striker Robert Lewandowski scoring four times.

The Polish international is enjoying a sensational campaign, having found the net 16 times in just 12 Bundesliga appearances. The experienced former Dortmund star is part of the reason why Bayern have scored at least two goals in six of their last eight league games.

Bayer Leverkusen’s form has improved in recent games, as Peter Bosz’s team are undefeated in their last four matches in all competitions, having recorded three victories. Last time out, the visitors recorded a potentially vital 2-0 win at Lokomotiv Moscow in the Champions League.

When it comes to the Bundesliga, Bayer have been far too inconsistent of late, winning just once in their last six outings in the German top-flight.

Like most teams in the German top-flight, Bayern are something of a bogey team to them, as Bayer have won just once in the last nine meetings with the Bavarians in all competitions.

Forebet predicts that Bayern’s recent run of good form will continue, with the reigning champions recording a victory in a high-scoring encounter.
