Liverpool will be looking to extend their unbeaten run in the Premier League when they welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to Anfield on Saturday. Jurgen Klopp’s men are eight points clear at the top of the table after dropping just two points this season.

The Reds haven’t exactly been blowing teams away, but they are finding ways to win games. Remarkably, Liverpool haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last 11 matches in all competitions. Still, they have beaten Leicester, Tottenham and Manchester City in that time.

Liverpool completely dominated their Champions League tie with Napoli in midweek, but could only manage to claim a point against the Italians. Despite registering 72% of the possession, the game finished 1-1 thanks to a Dejan Lovren equaliser.

However, Liverpool are top of Group E with 10 points from five games. The Reds are in pole position to qualify for the knockout stages and look set to continue the defence of their European crown.

Brighton could only dream of playing Champions League football at the moment, but it feels as though the club is moving in the right direction under the guidance of Graham Potter. The Seagulls boss has recently been handed a contract extension following his team’s strong start to the campaign.

Potter’s side are currently 12th in the table with a record of W4/D3/L6. Brighton’s wins in 2019/20 have come against Watford, Tottenham, Everton and Norwich.

The Seagulls certainly have the potential to start picking up wins on a more consistent basis, but a trip to Anfield to face Liverpool this weekend might not be the best opportunity to do so.

The Merseysiders have beaten Brighton in each of their last seven meetings in all competitions, and Liverpool have won all of the top-flight encounters between the two teams. The aggregate scoreline from their four Premier League matches is 11-1 in favour of the Reds.

Liverpool will be without key midfielder Fabinho on Saturday after the Brazilian limped off in Wednesday’s clash with Napoli. Centre-back Joel Matip will also be unavailable for selection.

Potter will be hoping that he can call upon the services of Aaron Connolly. The forward sat out of Brighton’s last game due to injury. Jose Izquierdo remains a long-term absentee with a knee problem.

Liverpool’s winning run against Brighton looks set to continue this weekend. Jurgen Klopp’s side aren’t playing to the best of their ability right now, but they are still managing to get the job done.

Forebet predicts that the home side will score over 2.5 goals on their way to victory. However, given Liverpool’s recent defensive record, it will be tough for them to keep a clean sheet.
