Spurs set to continue revival against Bournemouth

Jose Mourinho will be hoping to maintain his 100% record as Tottenham manager when his side host Bournemouth on Saturday. The new boss has won his opening two games, while Bournemouth have lost their last two.

Tottenham have conceded two goals in both games since the managerial change, but have managed to outscore their opponents on both occasions. Spurs beat West Ham 3-2 last weekend, before coming from behind to claim a 4-2 victory over Olympiacos in the Champions League.

After securing qualification for the Champions League knockout stages in midweek, Mourinho must now focus on guiding his team up Premier League table. Spurs are currently 10th, but they are only two points behind fifth-place Wolves.

The win against West Ham was Tottenham’s first league victory since the end of September. Following victory over Southampton, Spurs lost to Brighton and Liverpool, while only managing draws with Watford, Everton and Sheffield United.

Bournemouth are one place bellow Tottenham in the table and have picked up one point less than their next opponent. Their inconsistent campaign is reflected in their record of W4/D4/L5 in the Premier League this season.

The Cherries have only won one of their last seven league matches. After beating Manchester United at the start of the month, Eddie Howe’s side have registered consecutive 2-1 defeats to Newcastle and Wolves respectively.

Having only netted 16 times in 13 games in 2019/20, Bournemouth’s goal-scoring record is a cause for concern. The Cherries haven’t scored more than one goal in any of their last six league outings, so Howe will be desperate for his forward players to kick into gear.

Callum Wilson is the club’s top scorer with five goals to his name this season. However, the England striker has failed to find the back of the net in his last six appearances, and his drought has clearly had a negative impact on the team.

On the other hand, Tottenham’s Harry Kane has bagged 13 goals in 17 appearances for his club this term. Son Heung-min is also in great form at the moment, with two goals and two assists in his last three league games.

Given the team’s contrasting recent goal-scoring records, Spurs look set to pick up a third straight win under Mourinho. Tottenham should have too much quality for Bournemouth.

Forebet predicts that Spurs will claim a comfortable win, while keeping a much-needed clean sheet.
