Zenit to keep alive qualification hopes in Group G

The Champions League is reaching a crucial stage with gameweek five taking place over the next two nights. Some groups have been virtually decided, but others like Group G are still very much in the balance.

Two of the teams hoping to make the last-16 of the competition, Zenit St. Petersburg and Lyon meet on Wednesday evening at the Saint-Petersburg Stadium.

There is a positive for Zenit in their home record in the Champions League, as they have won five of their last seven matches on home soil. However, they have lost two of their last three games.

Lyon can virtually seal their place in the knockout stages of this competition with a draw in Russia. It may be just as well that the visitors do not need a win, as they have failed to beat Zenit in the last three meetings between the pair. OL have also recorded just two wins in their last 11 Champions League outings.
