Club Brugge and Galatasaray were never going to experience great Champions League campaign when they were paired alongside PSG and Real Madrid in Group A of the competition. The two teams meet in Istanbul on Tuesday evening, as both look to strengthen their case for third place in the group.
The two teams have picked up few points from their four games so far. In fact, Club Brugge have picked up just two points from four games, while Galatasaray have taken just a point, which was in the reverse fixture. The biggest moment of the group for the visitors was in a 2-2 draw at Spanish giants Real Madrid.
The home side really has struggled in this season’s Champions League.
This season’s struggles should not come as a surprise, as the Turkish team has failed to win in nine Champions League games, suffering seven defeats in the process.
Galatasaray have also failed to win in their last four home games in Europe’s elite competition, including losing their last three matches on home soil in the Champions League. They have also failed to score in three of their last four games on home soil in the competition.
As previously mentioned, Club Brugge did manage a famous 2-2 draw at Real Madrid on matchday two. However, that is about as good as it has got for the Belgian side in Group A.
The visitors are now four games without a win in the Champions League, having won just three of their last ten games in the competition, with all three of those wins coming in the preliminary rounds of Europe’s elite competition.
The fact that Brugge’s recent away record in the Champions League is no major surprise either, as they have won just two of their last 15 away games in the competition.
However, Forebet predicts that Brugge’s recent away record will improve in Turkey, with the Belgian side recording a victory in a low-scoring clash.
