Championship league leaders, West Brom, signed off with back-to-back wins in the league prior to the international break having secured wins over Stoke City and Hull City (both away from home), to leave The Baggies top of the division ahead of this weekend’s action in the second tier.
West Brom are now unbeaten in their last 6 matches and have suffered just 1 defeat throughout this campaign so far, which was a narrow 1-0 defeat away at Leeds United, but the hosts’ form at The Hawthorns has been very solid indeed.

Sheffield Wednesday dropped down to 8th place in the Championship before the break after being held to a 2-2 draw by Swansea City at Hillsborough and this stalemate became Sheffield Wednesday’s third match without a win in the second tier.

Sheffield Wednesday’s results away from home have been inconsistent to say the least so far this season, starting with a 3-1 win at Reading, The Owls then proceeded to lose at Millwall and Preston North End, gain wins at Huddersfield Town and Middlesbrough, but have since slumped to 3 away matches without a win.
Losses at Hull City and Blackburn Rovers have been either side of a 1-1 draw at Cardiff City, so a trip to face an in-form West Brom outfit may just be beyond Sheffield Wednesday here.
