Germany host Belarus on Saturday, and a win could secure Joachim Low’s side a place at next summer’s tournament. If they beat Belarus and Nothern Ireland fail to beat the Netherlands, then Germany will qualify.

It’s been an interesting battle in Group C. Netherlands and Germany are currently locked on 15 points, but underdogs Nothern Ireland have sprung a few surprises.

Everyone expected Germany and the Netherlands to run away with the group, but it hasn’t been that simple.

Germany kicked off their qualifying campaign with an impressive 3-2 victory in Amsterdam, before recording comfortable wins over Belarus and Germany.

However, defeat to the Netherlands put an end Germany’s promising start. Low’s team have since beaten Northern Ireland and Estonia.

Belarus can no longer qualify for Euro 2020 via Group C. They are fourth in the group having picked four points from seven matches.

A record of W1/D1/L5 doesn’t look great, but Belarus have put in some eye-catching performances, so they are not to be taken lightly.

Despite losing their opening four qualifying games, Belarus picked up four points from their two games with Estonia and were only beaten 2-1 by the Netherlands last time out.

A trip to Germany is going to be a different test all together, but Belarus won’t make it easy for the four-time world champions.

Germany’s home form has not been strong of late. They have won just one of their last five on home soil, drawing three and losing one.

With that being said, four clean sheets in their last six matches will give the Germans confidence heading into Saturday’s match.

The home side will be without a number of key players, but they should have enough quality to get the job done. Kai Havertz, Marco Reus, Niklas Sule and Julian Draxler are just a few of the big names sidelined due to injury.

As for the visitors, Pavel Savitski, Ivan Bakhar, Sergey Politevich are all unavailable for selection.

Belarus have only managed to score four goals in seven qualifying matches. It’s unlikely they will trouble Germany’s goal, especially when you consider Germany’s recent clean sheet record.

Belarus’ defensive record has also been poor this campaign, so Germany will be keen to take advantage of that.

Forebet predicts that Germany will cruise to a comfortable victory. The hosts are set to net over 2.5 goals, while also keeping a clean sheet.
