Armenia have enjoyed a decent qualifying campaign for next year’s European Championships. They head into the last two group games in qualifying still in with a narrow chance of making next years tournament.
On Friday night, they host Greece in a game that could keep their slim qualification hopes alive or completely killed them off.
The home side is currently five points behind Finland, who occupy second place in the group. It seems unlikely that the second-place team will not gain any more points from their last two games, but it is not impossible.
A recent run of poor form has hindered Armenia’s chances of being surprise qualifiers for Euro 2020, as they have won just one of their last four matches in Group J. Last time out in qualifying they suffered a 3-0 defeat in Finland, which in the context of qualifying is likely to be a massive result.
Armenia’s recent home record in qualifying has not been great either, as they have won just two of their last nine qualifiers on home soil. They did record one of those home wins in their last outing though, a 4-2 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The fact that Armenia have conceded at least two goals in four of their last five home qualifiers has not helped their claims for a place at Euro 2020.
Greece went into this group with a realistic chance of making next years European Championships. However, they are currently two points behind Armenia and seven points behind Finland, so out of the qualification picture.
The visitor’s recent results in qualifying have been poor, as they have won just once in their last seven games. A 2-1-win last time out against Bosnia and Herzegovina ended a seven-game winless streak in qualifying.

Forebet predicts that this clash will finish in a low-scoring draw, which would end Armenia’s chances of making it to next years European Championships.
