Ajax will be looking for revenge as they travel to Chelsea on Tuesday night for UEFA Champions League Matchday 4.

The English club beat Ajax in Amsterdam last time out. Frank Lampard’s side now sit at the top of Group H thanks to their superior head-to-head record.

Still, both teams have picked up six points from their three Champions League games this season. Both sides have won two matches while losing another.

Chelsea kicked off their campaign with a narrow defeat to Valencia on Matchday 1. Next up, the Blues claimed an impressive away victory at Lille.

On the other hand, Ajax recorded consecutive 3-0 victories over Lille and Valencia respectively, before losing to Chelsea in the previous round.

The Dutch club remains unbeaten domestically after claiming yet another victory in the Eredivisie on Friday. They beat Zwolle 4-2, meaning they now boast a record of W10/D2/L0 in the league.

Ajax’s 39 goals in 12 top-flight matches means they are averaging over three goals per game this season. In fact, Ajax’s only defeat this season came against Chelsea a fortnight ago.

The Blues have also been in fantastic form in recent weeks. Chelsea have won eight of their last nine matches in all competitions, while scoring two or more goals in six of those eight matches.

Tammy Abraham has been in red-hot form for Chelsea recently. The England striker has scored nine goals in 11 Premier League game this season and also scored in the club’s win against Lille.

American winger Christian Pulisic has also been at the top of his game, netting four goals in his last two matches, including a perfect hat-trick against Burnley.

As for Ajax, Quincy Promes is the club’s top scorer this season with 10 goals in 16 appearances. He has been a revelation since joining in the summer transfer window.

Dusan Tadic has picked up where he left off last season. The Serbian international enjoyed a remarkable 2018/19 campaign and already has an astonishing nine goals and 12 assists in 20 games this term.

Ajax enjoyed a famous run to the semi-finals of the Champions League last season and Erik ten Hag’s men are proving that they are a force to be reckoned with once again this season.

Ajax are in fine form, but Chelsea’s home advantage could be the difference between the two teams on Tuesday.

Forebet predicts that Chelsea will record consecutive 1-0 victories over Ajax.
