Since starting goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski went down with a hip injury on September 28th, West Ham have not won a match.

Fabianski suffered a long-term injury against Bournemouth and since leaving the pitch in the 34th minute, West Ham have drawn two and lost two matches. Back-up goalkeeper Roberto Jimenez has not won a match since assuming the starting goalkeeper role.

Newcastle United are struggling to keep their heads above water with Steve Bruce in charge. The Magpies have collected nine points from 30 and sit one place above 18th-place Southampton. Bruce was always destined to have a relegation fight on his hands.

West Ham have won their last two league meetings against Newcastle United. The Hammers outscored Newcastle United last term 5-0 keeping clean sheets home and away. Manuel Pellegrini’s team won 2-0 at the London Stadium in 2018-19 and hopes will be high that scoreline can occur once more.

Since Roberto went into goal for West Ham, they have not kept a clean sheet. West Ham’s last four matches in the Premier League saw both teams score goals. Two of the four also saw over 2.5 goals tallied by the teams involved.

Newcastle United’s matches have been far less high-scoring. Although they were blasted 5-0 not long ago away to Leicester City. Last weekend, Newcastle United took a halftime lead against Wolverhampton Wanderers but allowed a second-half goal to end in a 1-1 draw.

Bruce has a few injury worries heading to London. Fabian Schar, Andy Carroll, Matt Ritchie, and Florian Lejeune could all four be back for the weekend as they battle for match fitness.

The only play who is already ruled out of the weekend for Newcastle United is Sean Longstaff. The midfielder was sent off against Wolverhampton Wanderers and will sit out the match against West Ham.

Fabianski is recovering from his injury and won’t return until after Christmas. He underwent surgery in mid-October.

Pellegrini is unlikely to have the trio of Winston Reid, Jack Wilshere, and Michail Antonio back in the team. Antonio also underwent surgery recently and is listed as likely to return after the November international break.

West Ham may not be playing well but are performing better than Newcastle United currently. The Hammers should finally turn around their poor form and pick up a win.

Saturday’s match at the London Stadium will see both teams score as over 2.5 goals go into the back of the net. West Ham will win for a third straight time in the league against Newcastle United.
