Borussia Monchengladbach have emerged as this season’s surprise package in the Bundesliga. There is usually at least one team a season in the German top-flight that gets amongst the top-four, surprising everybody.
With Monchengladbach currently sitting at the top of the Bundesliga table, the early signs suggest that Marco Rose’s side could be this season’s team to surprise.
However, the early season leaders face a tough test of their table-topping credentials on Saturday evening, when they travel to Dortmund.
After the obligatory good start to the Bundesliga campaign, Dortmund’s form has slipped of late in the German top-flight. In fact, BVB’s form has slipped so badly that they now find themselves down in eighth position in the table.
The home side is unbeaten in four Bundesliga matches but have drawn their last three league outings 2-2 against Eintracht Frankfurt, Werder Bremen and Freiburg. The run of draws has seen them fall four points behind Monchengladbach.

BVB will not fear the leaders, though, as the home side has beaten Gladbach in the last eight meetings between the two teams. The visitors have also lost on 12 of their previous 13 visits to the Signal Iduna Park in all competitions.
It would certainly send a message out if Rose’s side could record a victory at Dortmund. The visitors should be full of confidence, as they head into the clash on the back of a four-game winning run in the German top-flight.
Gladbach have been pretty prolific in recent games, scoring at least twice in their last three league outings. With Dortmund also scoring at least two goals in their previous 20 home games in the Bundesliga, this encounter promises goals galore.
Forebet predicts that Monchengladbach will record what could be a massive victory in a goal-filled game to add to the home sides recent frustrations.
