Osasuna to hold surprise package Granada

Granada’s early season form have been one of the biggest talking points of the Spanish top-flight season far. The minnows are currently fourth-place in La Liga, just four points behind league leaders Real Madrid.

However, a 4-2 defeat against Los Blancos last time out in the Spanish top-flight ended a five-game unbeaten run in La Liga for Granada, consisting of four wins and a draw. On Friday night, the home side face a very different challenge in the shape of Osasuna.

Ironically, Granada have found Osasuna difficult opponents of late, as the home side has won just one of the last six meetings between the pair. However, that record is slightly skewed by three draws in that time.

Diego Martinez’s team have certainly returned to the Spanish top-flight with a bang this season and will hope to bounce back from that defeat against Real Madrid with a victory in this clash.

Granada have won their last two home games in La Liga without conceding a goal, having lost their previous eight La Liga matches at the Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes dating back to their last spell in the Spanish top-flight.

Osasuna have made an inconsistent start to their La Liga campaign, taking just 11 points from their first eight matches in the Spanish top-flight. They have been difficult to beat this season, suffering just one loss from their eight league outings.

However, a 2-1 win over Villarreal last time out in La Liga ended a six-game winless run, as they have simply drawn too many games of late.

Osasuna have struggled for away wins in La Liga, winning just two of their last 19 matches on their travels, including winning just once in eight away games. Their recent away games in the Spanish top-flight have been relatively high-scoring, though, with over 2.5 goals scored in five of their last eight outings.

Forebet predicts that Osasuna will frustrate the home side and that this game will end all-square.
