Erling Braut Haaland scored a first-half hat-trick in his team’s tournament opener and the 19-year-old is also leading the goal scoring charts in the Austrian Bundesliga with 11 goals from 9 matches.
Salzburg hammered Austria Wien 4-1 in their previous match, with Sekou Koita bagging a brace.
Liverpool have been handed a boost as first-choice goalkeeper Alisson has returned to training. Still, he is unlikely to feature on Wednesday. Xherdan Shaqiri will also be unavailable for selection due to a calf tear.
