PSG have of course been the dominant force of French football in recent seasons. Expensive big-name arrivals have made the team from the French capital a formidable presence in Ligue One.
However, Thomas Tuchel’s side has already suffered a few hiccups in Ligue One this season, including suffering a shock 2-0 home defeat against Reims last time out.
The French champions have a chance to bounce straight back on Saturday, as they visit Bordeaux on Saturday afternoon.
Surprising, PSG’s recent league record is relatively inconsistent, as they have won five and lost three of their eight Ligue One outings dating back to last season. Their recent matches in the French top-flight have been low-scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in their last four league outings.
The visitors recent away form in Ligue One is unconvincing, as the Parisians have won just three of their last eight matches on their travels, suffering five defeats in the process. The champions have encountered defensive problems on their travels, having conceded at least two goals in all five of their recent away defeats.
Bordeaux are now six-matches unbeaten in Ligue One after suffering defeat on the opening weekend, winning three and drawing three of their league games so far this season. Last time out, the home side recorded a 3-1 win at Amiens. The victory saw Paulo Sousa’s side score at least two goals for the fourth time in their last five Ligue matches.
The home side are fifth-place in the French top-flight table and could move level on points with the champions on points with a victory, although PSG have a superior goal difference.
The recent meetings between these two teams doesn’t bode well for a home win, as PSG have beaten Bordeaux in five of the last six games.
Forebet predicts that PSG will record a victory in a low-scoring encounter to stay at the top of the Ligue One table.
