UEFA Champions League Group C kicks off as Shakhtar Donetsk host Manchester City on Wednesday.
The two teams will be getting used to facing each other, as this is the third consecutive season that Shakhtar and City have been drawn in the same group.
In the four meetings between the two teams, Man City have won three while Shakhtar have claimed one victory.
Last season, City beat Shakhtar 3-0 in Ukraine before thrashing them 6-0 at the Etihad Stadium in the reverse fixtures.
The overall aggregate score line between the two teams stands at 12-2 in favor of Manchester City.
Man City are competing in their ninth consecutive Champions League campaign but have failed to make it past the semi-final stage of the competition.
After dominating English football in recent seasons, Pep Guardolia will be desperate to ensure his side are successful on the European stage soon.
Shakhtar Donetsk are more experienced in the Champions League than City, and this is the club’s twentieth straight season in the competition.
However, they have never made it past the quarter-finals and would love to enjoy a run in the tournament this time around.
Shakhtar have claimed twelve Ukranian Premier League titles since the turn of the millennium and have won the last three.
They look on course to claim yet another top-flight title and currently sit seven points clear of second-place Desna after winning all seven of their league matches this season.
Junior Moraes is the top goal scorer in Ukraine with 7 goals in as many matches, while team mate Marlos is second on the charts with 5.
Manchester City have endured a below par start to the season by their high standards, and already sit five points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool.

They come into this match on the back of a shock 3-2 loss to Norwich City, and will be looking to return to winning ways with a convincing win against Shakhtar.
With the injured Aymeric Laporte not due to recover for a few months, City’s defense is now significantly weaker.
However, with the likes of Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero in red-hot goal scoring form, City should have enough quality to beat Shakhtar fairly comfortably.
Forebet predicts that Manchester City will cruise to victory on Wednesday, and we could see over 3.5 goals being scored.
