Lille were one of the surprise packages of last season in Ligue One, finishing as runners up to perennial champions PSG. Christophe Galtier’s side host Angers on Friday evening, as the visitors look to continue their bright start to the season.
A record of two wins and two defeats so far this season illustrates the home sides mixed league start to the French top-flight campaign.
Last time out in the league, Lille suffered a 2-0 defeat at Reims. The defeat was typical of the difference between Les Dogues form on home soil and their away form.
In fact, Lille have now recorded six straight wins at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in Ligue One, including a 5-1 hammering of PSG on home soil last season.

The key factor in those home wins has been their eye for goal on home soil, as they have scored at least twice in five of their last six matches.
Talking of goals, youngster Victor Osimhen has made a bright start to his Lille career in front of goal, scoring four times in as many league appearances.
Angers are currently fourth place in the Ligue One table after winning three of their last four league outings, including last time out when the visitors defeated Dijon 2-0. Like the home side, the key to Angers victories has been firepower, as they have scored at least twice in their league wins so far this season.
Once again, like the home side, Angers have been far stronger on home soil than on their travels in Ligue One. The visitors have lost three of their last four away matches in the French top-flight, losing their only away game of the current season 6-0 at Lyon.
Forebet predicts more home joy for Lyon and more away woe for Angers in the French top-flight.
