West Ham and Norwich City to end level

West Ham and Norwich City to end level
    30/08/19 2721

Just one point separates West Ham and Norwich City in the Premier League table. After three matches, neither team has been able to emerge from the bottom half of the table. A win could propel one of the two clubs into the upper half of the league depending on results elsewhere.

West Ham are undefeated in their last two Premier League matches. The Hammers have collected four points from six. Manuel Pellegrini’s team is coming off of a big 3-1 win over Watford last weekend.

Summer club record signing Sebastien Haller scored twice as the Hammers played well to get the win. West Ham’s opening day 5-0 loss at home to Manchester City is still lingering over their heads.

It was a poor display from the Hammers and shows they are capable of conceding goals to other teams. West Ham are –3 in goal difference after three matches and average 1.3 goals per game.

Norwich City have collected three points from nine possible. The Canaries have had no problem scoring goals. Daniel Farke’s team has scored six times for an average of 2.0 scores per match.

The Canaries have struggled to keep out goals. They have conceded eight times. In two of their three matches, Norwich City have conceded 2.5 goals. Last weekend, they allowed Chelsea to score a 68th-minute goal to win.

West Ham haven’t met Norwich City since the 2015-16 season. Both matches ended in 2-2 draws. Three of the last six matches between West Ham and Norwich City in the Premier League ended in draws.

Farke has four injury issues to worry about ahead of Norwich City’s trip to London. Onel Hernandez and Timm Klose are both out with long-term knee injuries. Josip Drmic and Christoph Zimmermann are both recovering from injuries and could make Farke’s team for the match.

West Ham striker Javier Hernandez should be fully recovered from a knee injury. He should be able to feature for the Hammers. It looks like Michail Antonio will be out for a few games due to a thigh muscle injury.

The Hammers played in midweek against Newport County in the Carabao Cup. Pellegrini’s team won 2-0 thanks to goals from Jack Wilshere and Pablo Fornals. Norwich City lost their midweek game to Crawley Town 1-0.

Norwich City and West Ham are quite evenly matched. These teams should finish Saturday level with over 2.5 goals going into the back of the net.
