Bristol Rovers and Tranmere Rovers have not made great starts to their League One campaigns this season. The pair meet on Tuesday night at the Memorial Stadium.
The home side has failed to win any of their first three League One games this season, suffering two defeats against Blackpool on the opening gameweek and last time out against Coventry.
The only game Bristol Rovers have taken anything from in the league this season was a goalless draw with Wycombe sandwiched in-between the two defeats.
The poor start to their league campaign may not have come as much of a surprise, as the Pirates have now won just two of their last 13 league games dating back to last season.
Even their home form has been unconvincing in League One in recent months. A record of just three wins in 12 league outings is not exactly a stellar one. In fact, that record is the sort that can see a team dragged into the relegation battle.
Tranmere have made a mixed start to life back in the third tier. Rovers are back in League One this season after a five-year absence. Mickey Mellon’s side lost their opening two league games against Portsmouth and Hull, conceding at least twice in both without reply.
However, the Wirral-based side will be hoping a 5-0 hammering of north west rivals Bolton Wanderers last time out will get them back on track in League One.
Rovers will certainly need to do better than they did in their last spell in the third tier, as they lost four of their final five games in the division. Relegation to the National League then followed.
However, the Merseysider’s look in far better shape to compete in the third tier this season than in their previous spell in League One.
Forebet predicts that this game will finish in a tight draw, which will do little for either sides prospects of gaining any momentum.
