    Aston Villa face Bournemouth at Villa Park on Saturday as both sides go in search of their first win of the new campaign.

    John McGinn gave Villa the lead after just nine minutes against Tottenham Hotspur in their opening match.

    Villa managed to hold on until the 73rd minute when Tottenham debutant Tanguy Ndombele drew the score level with a fine long-range effort.

    A late brace from Harry Kane condemned Villa to a 3-1 loss in their first match back in the Premier League following a three-year absence.

    Bournemouth conceded in the 88th minute against Sheffield United to ruin any hopes of opening their 2019/20 campaign with a win.

    Chris Mepham had given his side the lead just past the hour mark however Bournemouth couldn’t hold on and had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

    Eddie Howe gave a first start to Philip Billing following his move from Huddersfield Town and the midfielder impressed on his debut with a dynamic display in the middle of the park.

    Dean Smith gave starts to four new signings on the opening day. Wesley and Trezeguet started in attack while defender Bjorn Engels and goalkeeper Tom Heaton were also given their debuts.

    All of these players will be in contention for a place in the starting eleven on Saturday.
