Ghana and Tunisia will wrap up the AFCON 2019 round of sixteen when they meet in Ismailia on Monday.

Ghana finished top of Group F and are unbeaten in the tournament so far. They picked up draws with Benin and Cameroon before beating Guinea-Bissau in their final group game.

Tunisia finished second in Group E after drawing all three of their matches and it’s hard to tell how they will fare in the knockout stage of the competition.

They opened their account with a 1-1 draw against Angola and drew with Mali by the same scoreline in their second match.

They were held to a disappointing goalless draw by Mauritania in their last match, despite dominating the possession and registering more shots than their opponents.

After featuring at the 2018 World Cup and topping their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying group, Tunisia were amongst the pre-tournament favorites.

However, their below par start to the tournament has cast some doubt over their ability to go all the way in the competition.

Ghana are also seen as one of the favorites to lift the trophy and have made a much more promising to their AFCON 2019 campaign.

They opened their account with a 2-2 draw against Benin. Brothers Jordan and Andre Ayew found the net for the Black Stars.

A goalless draw with Cameroon followed before a 2-0 victory over Guinea-Bissau secured Ghana’s place in the last sixteen.

Jordan Ayew was on the scoresheet again for the Black Stars in their last match and he looks to be in fine form heading into the knockout stage.

He could be the key to helping his side claim their fifth AFCON title. They haven’t won the tournament since 1982 and lost the 2015 final after an epic penalty shootout against Ivory Coast.

Tunisia’s sole triumph came in 2004 when they hosted the tournament however they have failed to make it past the semi-final stage since then.

Their star player is Saint-Etienne forward Wahbi Khazri. The former Sunderland man scored in the group match with Mali and will be looking to add to his tally against Ghana.

The head to head record between Tunisia and Ghana looks healthy for the Black Stars. They have claimed ten wins in comparison with Tunisia’s four.

Ghana are the favorites this time around and are likely to make it eleven wins when the two teams face each other on Monday.

Forebet predicts a Ghana victory and the likelihood of +2.5 goals.
