FC Dallas look in reasonable shape ahead of their Wednesday night encounter against visiting Vancouver Whitecaps with home advantage at their Toyota Stadium in Texas with the hosts looking to further strengthen their position in the play-off pack in the Western Conference.

The hosts currently occupy 4th place in the Conference but find themselves 12 points adrift of the league leaders, Los Angeles, so the best position possible in the play-off pack seems to be the best that the hosts can hope for prior to this encounter.

With just 1 defeat out of their last 5 matches though, Dallas have made recent improvements to their situation which has been helped by recent wins against Seattle Sounders and Toronto which has maintained their challenge for a top seven finish.

Dallas have also lost just once on home turf at their Toyota Stadium so far this season too, and they’ll no doubt be hoping and relying upon form at home to keep them in the play-offs.

Indeed, the hosts will be looking to capture a third win on the trot on home turf on Wednesday night.

Vancouver Whitecaps have also put together a pretty solid looking sequence of results in recent weeks as the Canadian visitors are unbeaten in their last 5 matches overall in the MLS.

However, this recent upturn in form has produced just the one win which was a 2-1 home win over tonight’s opponents, Dallas, when these two teams last met at the BC Place Stadium in British Colombia back in the end of May.

Four draws with Sporting Kansas, New York Red Bulls, Toronto and Colorado Rapids mean that we should respect Vancouver here in this situation, as well as be very mindful of the possibility of another draw at the Toyota Stadium here.

Although Vancouver Whitecaps sit third from bottom in the Western Conference, their results away from home have also seen a marked improvement as the visitors have suffered just 1 defeat out of their last 5 matches on their travels.

That said, there’s still a distinct lack of away wins for the Canadian outfit as they’ve managed to earn just 4 victories out of their last 16 matches on the road.

This failure to turn all three points on the road must surely be against Vancouver Whitecaps in this clash, and Dallas look set for the spoils here.
