    21/06/19 2183

Viking host Eliteserien top-six rival Bodo/Glimt on Sunday at the Viking Stadion. Both sides go into the fixture having won their previous Eliteserien fixture. Three points separate Viking from Bodo/Glimt and a victory would pull them level on points.

Manager Bjarne Berntsen has seen his Viking side go undefeated in four of their last five matches. Viking defeated Lillestroem 2-0 away last weekend.

Viking are undefeated at home this term claiming three wins and a draw in four matches at the Viking Stadion. The Dark Blues have conceded just two scores while tallying eight goals at home this term.

Bodo/Glimt sit third in the Eliteserien table and five points off of first place Molde. Bodo/Glimt have two matches in hand and could overtake Molde if they continue their winning ways.

Manager Kjetil Knutsen’s team has found the back of the net 21 times this season in the league. It is the second most goals in the Eliteserien.

Bodo/Glimt’s away form has been good as they have have posted a 2W-1D-1L record. The Superlaget have conceded eight times on the road. The team’s defence could be its down fall when taking on Viking on Sunday.

Striker Amor Layouni leads Bodo/Glimt in goals with five in 10 matches. The forward has been excellent in the final third. Geir Andre Herrem and Haakon Evjan have tallied three goals apiece.

Viking forward Kristian Thorstvedt leads the side in goals with five while Tommy Hoeiland has chipped in four. Hoeiland is Viking’s penalty taker and two of his goals have come from the spot.

Berntsen’s Dark Blues have dominated their last four meetings with Bodo/Glimt. Viking have won four straight matches against their rivals in the top flight. Three of the four matches saw Viking keep clean sheets while just one featured both teams scoring.

Viking were promoted from the Norwegian first division at the end of last season. They have done well to reach midtable after 10 matches. The two clubs have not met in the Eliteserien since 2016.

Three of Bodo/Glimt’s last five Eliteserien matches have ended in over 2.5 goals scored. Three of Viking’s last six games have also ended in over 2.5 goals.

Both sides are playing well in the Eliterserien and Sunday’s game may have a direct effect on the league’s title race.

Viking have been brilliant at home and are undefeated on their own ground. The Dark Blues will pick up another victory against Bodo/Glimt and over 2.5 goals will be scored.
