On Wednesday evening, Helsingborg host AIK at the Olympia in the Swedish Allsvenskan, as the visitors look to move closer to the top of the table.
Helsingborg have enjoyed mixed fortunes since their return to the Swedish top-flight at the beginning of the campaign. The home side made a decent start winning two of their first three league games this season.
However, Per Ljung’s team’s form has dipped in recent weeks, as they have now failed to win in five matches in Allsvenskan. Last time out in the league, they suffered a 1-0 defeat at Kalmar. The game was the third of their last four league games to produce under 2.5 goals.
Helsingborg are unbeaten on home soil this season in the league winning two and drawing two of their four undefeated matches. They have now drawn their last two home league games against GIF Sundsvall and Djurgarden.
Although Helsingborg’s recent home games have not always been majorly high-scoring, both teams have scored in their first four home league games this season.
AIK have made a mixed start to the new league campaign. However, if results go their way in the current round of fixtures, they could move level with league leaders Malmo.
A 2-0 win over Djurgarden means the visitors have won their last two league games, having previously defeated AFC Eskilstuna. Their recent Allsvenskan matches have been relatively high-scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in four of their last six league games.
AIK have won just one of their first four away games this season. However, that victory was last time out in that aforementioned game against Djurgarden. Despite an inconsistent recent away record in the league, the visitors have at least kept clean sheets in three of their last five league matches on their travels.
Forebet predicts that AIK’s recent winning run in the league will continue in this clash with the visitors recording a victory in a high-scoring clash.
