On Wednesday morning, Japanese team Sanfreece Hiroshima and Chinese outfit GZ Evergrande FC go head-to-head in matchday five of the Asian Champions League.
The current standings in Group F are pretty tight, as Hiroshima are currently top of the table above Guangzhou by three points, with just two group games remaining.
Despite topping their Champions League group, the home side heads into this clash on the back of three defeats in their last four games in all competitions. They have also failed to score in all three losses.
However, the Japanese side has a good recent record in the Champions League, winning four of their last six matches in 90 minutes and one in extra-time. Their recent matches in the competitions have been low-scoring, though, with under 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five outings.
The team from Hiroshima have a formidable recent home record in the Champions League, winning seven of their last nine matches on home soil while suffering one defeat in the process.
A key to their good form in the Champions League on home soil has been their attacking prowess, as Hiroshi Jofuku’s team has scored at least two goals in four their last five home outings.
Guangzhou are in slightly better form than the home side. However, the visitor's form has not been that consistent of late.
Their recent record in the Champions League has not exactly been consistent either. However, they have been hard to defeat in the continental competition, losing just once in 12 outings.
Draws have been the name of the game in recent Champions League games for Fabio Cannavaro’s team on their travels, as the visitors have drawn four of their last six away games in the competition.
Forebet predicts that Sanfreece will record a victory in a high-scoring clash to virtually seal top spot in Group F.
