The two Coppa Italia semi-final second legs will be played this week, the second of which is contested on Thursday night. Atalanta welcome Fiorentina to the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia for what promises to be a thrilling night of football.

The teams come into the match level following the first leg. The game ended 3-3 with Atalanta racing into a 2 lead inside 20 minutes before Fiorentina came back to make it level at 2-2 on the 36th minute.  Atalanta regained the lead in the second half only for Luis Muriel to striker an equaliser for the hosts.

Atalanta will be feeling good about their chances having got the draw in the first leg. Their level of confidence will have increased further having defeated Napoli 2-1 away from home in Serie A on Monday night. It was a great comeback having gone 1-0 down and means Atalanta have a good chance of qualifying for the Champions League.

Trends show they are undefeated in their last nine games in all competitions and have lost only two of their last nineteen, which is an excellent record. Home form shows just one defeat in their last ten and Atalanta have defeated Fiorentina 3-1 in a recent home Serie A fixture.

Fiorentina are out of contention for the top four this season and are not even close to the Europa League places. This is their final shot at winning something and giving the fans something to cheer about but it will not be easy.

Their form has been poor and trends show Fiorentina have failed to win any of their last ten matches in all competitions. There have been four defeats and six draws during that time and they have lost three of their last four away games, picking up one draw at Roma.

Fiorentina went on a good run of away form between the 27th October and 17th February when they were unbeaten in ten away games but they only managed to win four of those ten matches. Trends show both teams have scored in each of their last seven away matches in all competitions and Fiorentina have conceded 2 or more goals in five of their last seven on the road, including each of their last four.

Looking ahead to the team news and Atalanta are waiting on the fitness of Rafael Toloi and Marco Varnier, the latter of which is recovering from a serious knee injury.  Every other player should be available for Gian Piero Gasperini.

Fiorentina are without Marko Pjaca who will not be playing again this season due to an ACL injury. Luis Muriel, who scored in this first leg, will be hoping to start having featured off the bench at Juventus on the weekend.

Atalanta will believe they have what it takes to get the job done in-front of their own fans. They are in good form compared to Fiorentina and although they may concede, should score the goals to see them win the match and reach the final.
